Tehsil Kabirwala has variety of tribes, castes and
families including Syeds, Hirajs, Sials, Khans, Pandas, Pahores and
Sahus. Khans, Pandas, Pahores and Sahus have reputation of being the
foremost ancient tribes in the Tehsil. The earliest land mark of the
district is the arrival of Gardezi Syeds in the twelveth century
followed by the Qureshis, who came in the thirteenth century. In the
Taimur’s time we find the Khokhars wielding considerable power in
the north of Kabirwala but their settlement in present villages
dates from the time of Humayoun. During the previous hundred years,
the main changes in local population have been due to the
colonization of the area irrigated by the Sidhnai and Lower bari
doab canals.
